This lakeside cottage was in desperate need of a complete makeover.

A nice couple from Conn. bought the cottage and started making calls immediately to make it their own. They called Maple Lane Design and Drafting, LLC, who was able to reconfigure the interior layout without losing any valuable living space; creating a new entry, new kitchen, better bedroom layout, and added another bathroom. The layout at the bedroom wing had the previous owner walking through a bedroom to get to the other bedroom. We also tried to use many of the existing windows and doors with the new design to maintain some of what the couple loved so much about the cottage. The structure was evaluated and restructured by local engineer, Wiley Lavigne. The builder was Chris Tissot of Tissot Construction of Saranac Lake, NY. The existing windows were relocated, new windows were worked in and two decks were added looking out to the lake. In the end, the team transformed this timeless beauty into a lakefront retreat with gorgeous updated finishes, modern amenities, and enhancements to the exterior to improve the lakeside outdoor living experience.
